Volunteer / intern opportunities

Why volunteer

Volunteers contribute time and talent to our programs and services. They are the foundation and heart of the Family Crisis Center’s growth and service to the community.

Training is provided to our volunteers to help them feel comfortable in their role and flexible hours can always be arranged.

Volunteers are instrumental in our fight to rid our communities of family violence and sexual assault.

Volunteers have contributed over 230,000 hours of service from January 1989 to December 2007

Interns:

The Family Crisis Center works with local universities and provides internship placements for bachelor’s level and master’s social work, nursing and psychology students. Services performed by these interns range from hotline support, crisis intervention, peer counseling, information and referral, hospital and court accompaniment, legal assistance and crime victim’s compensation assistance.

There are many volunteer opportunities at the crisis center. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a volunteer or an intern at our agency, please call our Volunteer coordinator Kisha Henry at 817-558-7171.

WE WOULD LOVE FOR YOU TO BE PART OF OUR TEAM!
